What comes to your mind when you think about increasing your productivity?

  • Better time management?
  • Organizing your workspace?
  • Setting up a task management tool?

Yes, all these things have their place when it comes to being productive and getting things done.

But they are useless when you don’t have the energy to show up and do the work.

So if you feel like your productivity is not where you want it to be, make sure to also have a look at these areas:

5 Overlooked ways to increase your productivity

FOOD

Make sure to nourish your body and to eat enough. Your body and your brain need energy to perform at their best.

WATER

Drink plenty of water! Dehydration can lead to headaches, fatigue and lots of other unwanted side effects. It also decreases your ability to concentrate. Good reasons to stay hydrated, right?

MOVEMENT

Move your body regularly. We sit all day, which can lead to back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, the list goes on. You can’t be as productive as you want when everything hurts, right?

BREAKS

When you notice that you are distracted and have a hard time focusing and concentrating, take a break! Turn on the music, have a dance party, drink a glass of water, go for a short walk, and do some stretches, …

SLEEP

Make sure to get enough sleep. I know you’ve heard this a million times but that’s for a good reason. It’s important! First of all – and most obvious – you’re tired and therefore not as productive as you want to. But lack of sleep also decreases your ability to make decisions or to solve problems (just to name a few).
