Are you ready to change your life? Me too! So what do I do to get out of the rut? I’ve decided to start with the following three steps:
Step 1: New hair – new me!
What is the first thing you do when you want to change your life? Right! A hair appointment. It not only symbolizes a fresh start but – for me – it’s also a visual reminder of the changes in my life. I haven’t dyed my hair in over ten years, so I decided that now is the time. I went for a little bit darker roots, highlights, and a more layered cut. And I love it!
Step 2: Move my body
Over the last couple of years, I used to work out every morning before I got to work. I prefer to workout in the morning because it ’s the only way I stay consisted. After work, there is always an excuse: no time, too tired, and so on. And it’s a great feeling to do something for yourself first thing in the morning.
But since I’m at home – let’s say it wasn’t one of my priorities. So it’s time to get moving again and do something for my overall health and wellbeing.
I decided to do Zanna Van Dijk’s “The Sculpt Guide” (4 workouts a week) and a Tone It Up routine (one video a week). I also want to incorporate more stretching and get more flexible, so I put together a YouTube Playlist with my favorite Yoga, stretching and flexibility routines to do at least twice a week.
Step 3: Do something different/new every day
The third thing is to do something new or different every day.
To be honest – I love my routines. When I worked 9-5 my days and weekends pretty much looked the same all the time. I cooked the same meals, ordered the same meals at restaurants, did the same workouts. Everything the same – all the time.
But if you want to change your life you have to change.
Don’t expect to see a change if you don’t make one.
I want to do at least one new or different thing each day. This can be small things like ordering a different Pizza or cocktail or big ones like making a photoshoot in a public place. Just doing one thing every day that takes me out of my usual comfort zone.
